...Mr Gosper responded, "He had lived his whole life in the Colo, as he was born there. He had done what he thought was right throughout his life, and he knew he had many friends. He was sorry to leave Colo, but was not going very far away....The floors of the historic building (Cavanough's) was cleared, and dancing indulged in till on towards midnight, when the tables were again prepared and a good cup of tea enjoyed."

- Address*: As of May 1914, Benjamin Gosper and Anne Reed lived at Richmond, NSW, AUS; "A very large gathering of people from all parts pf Colo, Lower Portland, Windsor, Comleroy Road and other centres assembled at Upper Colo on 15th [May 1914] to give a hearty send off to Mr & Mrs B. Gosper senior who are about to leave Colo and reside in Richmond. A splendid spread was provided...Cllr Stuart in a very eulogistic speech, referred at some length to the qualities of Mr & Mrs Gosper...Thomas Caterson snr about the oldest resident of COlo, added his quota of praise. He said he had known Mr & Mrs Gosper from infancy, and could speak in the most glowing terms them as exceptionally good neighbours, obliging, upright, and most respectable in every way. He would miss them perhaps more than everybody else, as nearly every Sunday he found great pleasure in going over to see his friends and have an hours chat with them."
...Mr Gosper responded, "He had lived his whole life in the Colo, as he was born there. He had done what he thought was right throughout his life, and he knew he had many friends. He was sorry to leave Colo, but was not going very far away....The floors of the historic building (Cavanough's) was cleared, and dancing indulged in till on towards midnight, when the tables were again prepared and a good cup of tea enjoyed."
Note : Mrs Gosper was presented with a "handsome handbag" and Mr Gosper "Pair of fine pipes enclosed in a case"
