New South Wales

  • c1837 ~ Dr. Robert Thomas Auld
    The son of Scottish parents Thomas Auld and Maria Thompson he was born in St Petersburg in 1806. Returning to Scotland afetr 1819, he enrolled in and was accepted into the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh, graduating in 1827. Immigrated into New South Wales Australia circa 1837, Robert made his way up into Brisbane Waters on the Central Coast and settled. He married Maria Thompson at Lithgow NSW in 1851. Robert & Maria had six children, Julian Charles Frederick, Amy Alice, Robert Spotteswood Farquhar, Alfred Adolphus, Elizabeth McCulloch and Charles John. Robert died in 1883 aged 77 years.

  • 1853 ~ David Auld
    David Auld (son of David Auld and Agnes Adams) was born in High Paisley RFW SCT in 1825 and married Lockhart Agnes Paterson (daughter of Thomas Paterson and Lockhart Isobella Paton) in 1850. David and Lockhart had two children (David and Isobella) before immigrating to NSW in 1853. Once settled in Cassilis they had a further nine children (Thomas, John William, Allan Henderson, Lockhart Helen, Jane, Hugh, Jeanette, Andrew & Elizabeth). David died in 1872.

  • 1873 ~ Reverend John Auld M.A.
    The son of John Auld and Janet Thomson he was born in Stevenston Ayrshire Scotland in 1842. By the age of 18, John became an enginer locomotive before becoming a minister of the Presbyterian Church. In 1873 he married Georgina Muir and they both immigarted into New South Wales in the same year onboard the Christina Thompson. In 1876, John was appointed the first minister of Ashfield Presbyterian Church, a position he held until 1906. John and Georgina had six children, 4 sons and 2 daughters, John Hay Goodlet, Davis Thomson, Robert, James Muir, Elizabeth Miller and Janet Emily. John died in 1912 aged 70 years.

  • 1877 ~ Robert Auld
    The son of John Auld and Janet Thomson he was born in Kilmarnock Ayrshire Scotland in 1848. Immigrated to Victoria Australia in 1877 onboard the Loch Vennachar before making his way up into New South Wales. During 1880 he married Kate Sherringham in Mudgee NSW. Robert & Kate had five children, Jessie Thomson, Hugh, David L, Robert B and Margaret Chalmers. Robert died in 1904 aged 56 years.

  • 1965 ~ Ian Henderson Auld
    Ian Henderson Auld married Joan May Edge in Birkenhead CHS ENG. They immigrated to Sydney Australia with their son Stuart Henderson Auld in 1965. The couple settled in West Pymble and had another son.

Queensland

  • c1851-61 ~ William Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. Immigrated to Queensland between the years 1851-1861 before he married Barbara Hunter in 1861. William and Barbara had 7 children, named Isabella, Agnes, Isabella, James, Mary Dunbar, Janet and William. William died in Queensland during 1883 aged 54 years.

  • 1858 ~ Archibald Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. One of ten children in a coal mining family, Archibald married Catherine Heaps in 1854 and immigrated to Moreton Bay (then part of New South Wales) onboard the Alfred in 1858 with his wife and two children Jane / Jean and James. Once settled, Archibald and Catherine went on to extend their family with Agnes, Thomas, Archibald, Margaret, Andrew, Robert, William, John and Catherine. Archibald died in 1885 aged 54 years.

  • 1861 ~ James Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. A coal miner by trade, James married Margaret Prentice Cairns in 1853 and they went on to have four children, all born in Scotland. Immigrated to Queensland onboard the Persia in 1861 with his wife and two of their children, Mary & Agnes White. Once in Queensland eight more children resulted from this marriage - William James, Margaret, Elizabeth, Joseph, Andrew, Archibald, John & Jessie. James died in 1906 aged 80.

  • c1861-64 ~ Joseph Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. Immigrated to Queensland between the years of 1861-1864. Joseph died in Queensland in 1864 aged 29.

  • 1864 ~ Andrew Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. Brother of Archibald Auld, Andrew married Janet Marshall in 1859 in Scotland and immigrated to Moreton Bay onboard the Ariadne in 1864 with his wife and two children James and Agnes.   • 1864 ~ John Auld
    The son of James Auld and Agnes Whyte he was born in Muirovonside Stirlingshire Scotland. John married Margaret Bell in 1861 in Scotland. With his brother Andrew (and his family), he immigrated to Queensland onboard the Ariadne in 1864 with his wife and two children Mary and James. Once in Australia John and Margaret had a further 7 children, Agnes, Charles, Elizabeth, John, Margaret, Janet and Robert. John died aged 69 years in 1902.

  • 1883 ~ John Livingston Auld
    The son of Robert Auld and Mary Livingston he was born in Irvine Ayrshire Scotland. He married Susannah Mills in 1880 in Accrington Lancashire England, Susannah being the tenth child of John Mills and Annis/Agnes Warburton. They had two children, Archibald and Agnes (who was known as Cissie), and then set sail for Australia on the Zamora, arriving in Queensland 1883. They went on to have 8 more children, John, Frederick Charles, Robert, Margaret Livingstone, Lillian Mills, Florence Livingstone, Dora Evelyn and Blanche McAlister. John Livingstone Auld was very prominent in the Ipswich area and managed the Liverpool Coal Mine in North Ipswich. In July 1899 J L Auld & Co commenced coal mining on the Cooneane Estate near Blackstone - another suburb of Ipswich. In 1906 he was a coal and owners representative on the first conference with the Miners Union. John died in 1909 aged 53 years.

  • 1842 ~ Patrick Auld
    The son of William Auld and Mary Stevenson he was born in Wigtownshire Scotland circa 1811. Patrick married Eliza McKinnell around 1835 in Stranraer and whilst in Scotland they had 3 children, Agnes, Georgiana and William Patrick. A spirit merchant by trade, Patrick and his family immigrarted to Port Adelaide in South Australia onboard the Fortitude to set up a new home. Patrick and Eliza went on to have another 2 children, Thomas Dacunha and Elizabeth. In Australia Patrick continued with his wine and spirit merchant business and later went on to establish Auldana Vineyard. patrick spent the last 5 years of his life in New Zealand were he died at Onehunga near Auckland in 1886, aged 75.

Victoria

  • 1852 ~ John Wallace Auld
    The son of Peter Auld and Mary Wallace he was born in West Calder Scotland in 1830. A baker by trade, John Wallace Auld immigarted into Victoria onboard the The Emigrant in 1852. John married Jane Fair in 1855 and they had three sons together, James Wallace, John Wallace and Peter, before Jane died in 1873. John remarried Elizabeth Ann Lithgow in 1873. John and Elizabeth then went on to have four children, William Wallace, Richard Wallace, Marian Elizabeth and Annie Elizabeth. John died in Victoria in 1901 aged 70 years.

  • 1853 ~ John Auld
    The son of John Auld and Agnes Stevenson he was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1828. John married Amelia / Emily Young in 1845 and whilst in Scotland they had four children; Jane, Agnes, Catherine and Annie. A warper and vignerer by trade, John Auld immigarted into Victoria onboard the Tasmania in 1853 with his wife and three of their children. Once settled in Victoria, John and Emily had a further eight children; John, Thomas McEwan, Emily Young, Mary, Mary Jane, Alexander George Young, John Nelson and Jeannie.

    Mary Auld arrived in Melbourne onboard the Naval Reserve with her brothers James and John as unassisted immigrants. Mary married Thomas Benjamin Armfield in 1873 and they had seven children; William, John Thomas, George Wilson, Robert, John, Mary and Sarah Jane.

John married Sarah Jane McCorkell (sister of Mary McCorkell) in 1868 and they had eight children; John, Ruth Onslove McCorkell, Florence Victoria, William George Fitroy, Lilie, Eveline, Violet and Bertha May.
